FMX 2015

Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia

In 1994 the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg started an event that intended to put graduates from German Film and Media Schools in touch with the industry. It was labeled "Film and Media Exchange" and was supposed to take place every two years. With its high-quality presentations by international speakers, boothes and workshops by soft- and hardware vendors and additional partner events, it became an immediate success. After 1998 it changed its subtitle to "Congress for Digital Media Production". In 1999 it shortened its name to the accronym "FMX", 2005 it added the subtitle "International Conference on Animation, Effects, Realtime and Content". Following the encouragement by speakers and attendees alike, it went international and established English as the official conference language in 2006.

Today, 9 years later, "FMX, Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia" is a highly influential event for the Art, Technology and Business of Digital Media Entertainment in Europe and an important networking platform for everybody working with moving images. Throughout the 20 years of its existence, FMX has always kept up with developments and trends and continues provide an ongoing "Realtime Experience". In 2015, FMX is going to celebrate its 20th edition at the forefront of digital entertainment.
