November 13, 2013 @ 2:30 am - 5:30 am

  • « SIAM GD/SPM 2013

The People Behind the Dinosaurs

How did the digital dinosaurs of "Jurassic Park" make their way into the ground-breaking movie in 1993? On the 20-year anniversary of the film, the digital artists who created the critters will come together in a panel that's sure to be memorable.

The LA ACM SIGGRAPH chapter will be screening a documentary on Steve "Spaz" Williams, entitled "The Wizard of Awe," and having a panel discussion with the guest speakers about the seminal animation they created for "Jurassic Park" and how they changed the visual effects industry. The guests speakers are innovators who created the stunning effects of many iconic films, and influenced many visual effects artistsworking today.

From the creation of the creatures, innovations in computer programming and the teamwork involved in the production, attendees will get a glimpse into the world of "Jurassic Park."
