Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer (Official)

Abstract

Catch a glimpse behind the visual effects for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A group of supervisors from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) will discuss their process from layout to lighting to fx to compositing. Topics will include the use of ILM's proprietary software for matching practical light sabers and blasters, updated techniques for image-based lighting, a new fx solver created specifically for the film, and tools for streamlining compositing.

Making of Star Wars: Force Awakens – Breakdown

These are some of the talented people behind the movie being awarded the BAFTA for Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects, five Visual Effects Society Awards for Outstanding in a Photoreal Feature for Visual Effects, Created Environment, Virtual Cinematography, Models, and Animated Performance as well as two nominations for Compositing and Effects Simulations.
