Ex-Student Volunteers
Have you served as a Student Volunteer in SIGGRAPH 2007, 2006, or 2005? Are you finished with school, so you no longer qualify for the Student Volunteers Programme? Are you looking for a way to stay involved or get more involved, but you're not exactly sure how?
SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 offers a unique mentoring/volunteer opportunity. We are seeking a very few recent undergraduate or graduate students who have been outstanding SIGGRAPH Student Volunteers or who would like to get involved in conference organisation. Former Student Volunteer candidates who are interested in ACM SIGGRAPH and starting careers in computer graphics will be selected for the opportunity to apprentice with a SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 programme.
As an apprentice, you will be assigned to a specific committee and mentored by the committee chair. With mentored assistance, you will take on appropriate responsibilities within a team of volunteers that works to make the conference a success. If you are selected, your responsibilities may begin in March 2008 and will continue until the conference is over in December 2008.
This initiative is very competitive. Only a few conference programmes are offering apprenticeships.
If you are interested, you can apply directly for an XSV opportunity. However, your application is not complete without Required References, which you must obtain.
If you are providing a reference for a recently graduated student for one of these apprenticeships, you should also review the Reference Procedures.
